Piper crocatum - Celebes Pepper Hoop

$49.99
6" Bamboo Hoop

Piper crocatum, also known as "Ornate Pepper Vine" or "ornamental pepper," is a species of tropical plant native to the Philippines, Borneo, and Sumatra. It belongs to the Piperaceae family, which includes black pepper and betel nut.

The Piper crocatum has heart-shaped leaves that are bright green in color and splattered with interesting veining of bright pinkish-white that can grow up to 5" long. The underside of the leaf of the Piper corcatum is often dark maroon, giving it a fabulous multi-colored appearance. It also produces small, curious yellow flowers that grow in clusters. When happy, it can grow to become up to 3' long (or more!) The plant arrives climbing and entwining around a wooden hoop.
