The 'Ponytail Palm' is fun, easy to care for evergreen native to areas of eastern Mexico. Ponytail Palms are very slow growers which require care similar to succulents and cacti, so it won't take over your apartment if you're limited on space. It is drought tolerant and prefers several hours of bright, indirect light each day -- so find a warm sunny spot in your home. Ponytail Palms are susceptible to root rot especially if they don't receive periods of bright light, so be sure to use a well draining soil and check for moisture before watering. Keep the foliage clean by rinsing under running water in the sink and inspecting for pests often. Fun fact, the British Royal Horticultural Society has given the Ponytail Palm the Award of Garden Merit.
