Calathea Lancifolia 'Rattlesnake'

Native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil, the Calathea Lancifolia gets its common name of 'Rattlesnake' from its vibrant lance-shaped leaves with markings resembling the skin of reptiles. The brightly colored leaves are mainly green, striped with ovals of dark green and a wavy pattern along their edges. The leaves sport a bold purple underside. This trendy tropical plant thrives in bright light and prefers high humidity for best growth, making it a solid choice for a sunny bathroom or kitchen counter.

• Care Level: Moderate
• Light Preference: Medium to bright, indirect light. Tolerant of lower light and shade. Avoid direct sunlight/hot afternoon sun as this scorch the leaves. Color may begin to also fade if in too bright, or too little light.
• Water Frequency: High/Moist. Thrives in evenly moist, well-drained soil. Allow the surface of the soil to slightly dry out between watering. These plants can be sensitive to hard water or water that has too many additives. We recommend using filtered tap water or rain water. Do not allow to completely dry out.
