Calathea makoyana, also known as the Peacock Plant is a species of tropical plant native to Brazil. It is a popular houseplant due to its attractive foliage and ease of care. The leaves of Peacock Plant are the plant's main attraction, characterized by their striking pattern of green and pink stripes that resemble the eye feathers of a peacock. The Peacock Plant leaves are oval-shaped and can reach up to 30cm in length and 15cm in width.

The underside of the Peacock Plant leaves is a deep burgundy color, adding to the plant's aesthetic appeal. The leaves are also known to move in response to changes in light, with the tips of the leaves curling up at night and unfurling during the day.
