Choose a container for the roots and the space
Consider the root-ball size, plant height, stability and how the plant will be watered. A substantially oversized container can hold moisture longer than expected. For larger arrangements, also consider the finished weight and the space needed to move the plant and pot.
Drainage and decorative pots
Some containers have drainage holes; others are decorative cachepots. A removable nursery pot inside a decorative planter can make it easier to water the plant and check for collected water around the roots.
