The Neanthe Bella Palm, also known as the Parlor Palm, is a graceful indoor palm with soft, feathery fronds and an elegant, compact growth habit. Botanically known as Chamaedorea elegans, it is one of the most adaptable palms for homes, apartments, and offices.
Unlike many tropical palms, the Parlor Palm can tolerate medium and lower-light conditions, although it will grow best in bright, indirect light. Its manageable size, classic appearance, and pet-friendly status make it an excellent choice for shelves, plant stands, desks, and smaller indoor spaces.

The Neanthe Bella Palm grows best in medium to bright indirect light. It can tolerate lower-light rooms better than many other palms, although growth may become slower and less full.
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, especially intense afternoon sun, which can scorch or bleach the delicate fronds. An east-facing window or a position several feet back from a brighter window is often ideal.
Water when approximately the top one to two inches of soil feel dry. Water thoroughly until excess moisture drains from the bottom of the pot, then empty any standing water from the saucer or decorative planter.
Parlor Palms do not like to remain constantly wet. Yellowing fronds, soft stems, or soil that stays damp for an extended period may indicate overwatering. Crispy brown tips and very dry soil may indicate that the plant needs more consistent moisture.
Use a loose, well-draining indoor potting mix that retains some moisture without becoming compacted or waterlogged. A standard houseplant mix amended with perlite or fine orchid bark works well.
Always use a pot with drainage holes whenever possible. Avoid moving a small palm into an oversized container, since the extra soil may stay wet for too long.
Average household humidity is usually sufficient, although the Parlor Palm may appreciate moderately humid conditions. Regular misting does not provide a meaningful, lasting increase in humidity. If your home is consistently dry, a humidifier is more effective.
Keep the plant in a stable indoor temperature range of approximately 65–80°F. Protect it from cold drafts, heating vents, radiators, and air-conditioning vents.
Feed lightly during periods of active growth, generally in spring and summer, using a balanced houseplant fertilizer according to the product instructions.
Parlor Palms are relatively slow-growing and do not require heavy feeding. Excess fertilizer can contribute to brown leaf tips, salt buildup, or root damage.
Remove fully brown or yellow fronds with clean scissors, cutting near the base without damaging nearby stems. Avoid trimming healthy green fronds simply to control the plant’s size, since palms produce new growth from specific growing points.
The Neanthe Bella Palm is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a popular choice for pet-friendly homes. However, it is still best to discourage pets from chewing on any houseplant, since consuming plant material may cause digestive discomfort.
The Parlor Palm’s soft, arching fronds bring a calm tropical look to living rooms, bedrooms, home offices, and apartments. Its upright shape allows it to add height without requiring a large amount of floor space.

You’ll receive one healthy live plant in the nursery-pot or hanging-basket size selected above. The listed size refers to the approximate diameter of the nursery pot, not the plant’s total height or width.
Because every plant is naturally unique, height, fullness, leaf count, coloration, variegation, vine length, maturity, and overall shape may differ from the photographs.
Unless the product listing specifically states otherwise, plants arrive in a standard nursery grow pot. Decorative planters, baskets, saucers, stands, and other accessories are sold separately.
Please allow approximately 10–15 business days for processing and preparation. Ten business days is the earliest end of the range, and many orders require most or all of the stated processing window.
Processing time is separate from carrier transit time. Local NYC delivery also requires preparation and does not automatically mean same-day or next-day service.

Each live plant is inspected and packed according to its size, shape, and shipping needs. Soil and foliage may be secured to reduce movement during transit, and protective materials may be added when appropriate.
Temporary drooping, shifted soil, limited leaf loss, or minor cosmetic stress can occur while a plant adjusts after shipping. This does not necessarily mean the plant is unhealthy.
Unpack the plant promptly and carefully remove all protective packaging. Place it in appropriate light and allow it time to adjust to its new environment.
Check the soil before watering. Do not water automatically upon arrival because the plant may already have adequate moisture. Avoid immediately fertilizing, heavily pruning, or repeatedly moving the plant while it acclimates.
We generally recommend allowing a newly delivered plant time to acclimate before repotting unless there is an urgent plant-health reason to do so.
Repotting an eligible small plant during the first 15 days may void the Plant Health Guarantee because it can make the cause of decline difficult to determine.
Report shipping or delivery damage within 48 hours. Keep the plant and all packaging while the concern is being reviewed.
