Heat Packs for Cold-Weather Plant Shipping

Heat packs can provide supplemental warmth inside eligible plant shipments during colder weather. They are one part of seasonal shipping preparation and can help reduce cold exposure during transit, but they cannot eliminate weather-related risk or control conditions after a package leaves our care.

When to Consider a Heat Pack

A heat pack may be useful when live plants are traveling through cold conditions. The appropriate option depends on the product, destination, forecast, transit time and current availability. Review the individual heat-pack product for its stated duration and instructions rather than assuming every heat pack performs for the same length of time.

Cold-Weather Shipping Notes

• Heat packs do not guarantee protection from freezing temperatures or carrier delays.
• We may delay a plant shipment when conditions appear unsafe for live plants.
• Tracking and timely package retrieval are especially important during temperature extremes.
