Ed’s Plant Shop is a small, independent online plant shop. Every live-plant order is inspected, prepared, and packed before being released to a local courier.
Eligible Queens customers may see Local Delivery as an option at checkout. Availability depends on the delivery address, products ordered, inventory readiness, courier availability, route distance, and our current operating capacity.
How Queens Plant Delivery Works
- Enter your complete Queens delivery address at checkout.
- If the address and products qualify, select Local Delivery.
- We will coordinate inventory and prepare your order.
- You will receive an automatic update when confirmed delivery information becomes available.
- Your order will be delivered by a local courier.
We currently use Uber Courier for many Queens deliveries. Another local courier may occasionally be used depending on the delivery distance, route, order size, availability, or special delivery requirements.
When supported, Uber may provide delivery updates or a tracking link by text message. Traditional UPS or USPS tracking may not be available for local courier orders.
Courier arrival times are estimates rather than guaranteed appointments. Queens traffic, bridge and tunnel conditions, parking, route changes, weather, building access, and courier availability may affect delivery timing.

Local delivery may be available throughout eligible Queens neighborhoods, including areas such as:

- Sunnyside
- Woodside
- Jackson Heights
- Elmhurst
- Forest Hills
- Rego Park
- Ridgewood
- Flushing
- Fresh Meadows
- Kew Gardens
- Jamaica
- Queens Village
- Whitestone
- Bayside
This list is not complete. Delivery availability can vary by ZIP code, route distance, product size, inventory location, and courier capacity.
The most reliable way to confirm eligibility is to enter the complete delivery address at checkout.
Local Delivery Processing Time
Local delivery does not automatically mean same-day or next-day service.
Please allow approximately 5–15 business days for processing and preparation. Five business days is the earliest end of the range, and many orders currently require most or all of the stated processing window.
Ed’s Plant Shop is currently operating with a very small team. Processing may occasionally take longer because of:
- High order volume or limited staffing
- Plant and inventory coordination
- Large or complex orders
- Courier availability and route distance
- Seasonal demand or holidays
- Severe weather or extreme temperatures
You will automatically receive an update if your order requires additional processing time. There is no need to contact us for a routine order-status update.
Prepare for Your Uber Courier Delivery
Please make sure your order includes complete and accurate delivery information:
- The recipient’s full name
- The complete street address
- The correct apartment, suite, floor, or unit number
- A working mobile phone number
- Door code, buzzer, doorman, gate, or building-access details
- Helpful delivery instructions when needed
Please remain available by phone while the delivery is in progress. The courier may need to contact you regarding the correct entrance, parking, building access, gate access, or another delivery issue.
Address changes are time-sensitive and cannot be guaranteed after order preparation or courier coordination has begun.
If the courier cannot reach the recipient or safely access the delivery location, the order may need to be left with building staff, placed in another appropriate delivery area, returned, or rescheduled. Additional courier charges may apply when another delivery attempt is required.
Apartments, Houses and Mixed Building Access
Queens deliveries may involve apartment buildings, walk-ups, elevator buildings, private homes, attached houses, gated properties, offices, lobbies, and shared-entry locations.
Please confirm any special access needs before delivery, including:
- Apartment or unit number
- Doorbell or buzzer instructions
- Gate codes
- Side or rear entrances
- Doorman or front-desk procedures
- Parking or loading restrictions
- Whether someone must be present to accept the order
If an order is left with building staff, in a lobby, package area, porch, vestibule, or another location approved by the recipient or property, the order may be considered delivered.
Standard local delivery generally covers transportation to the building or another accessible delivery point. It does not automatically include installation, repotting, furniture moving, carrying oversized plants up multiple flights of stairs, or placement throughout a home or office.
Live plants should be brought indoors and unpacked promptly, especially during very hot or cold weather.

Queens homes range from compact apartments and shaded courtyards to bright houses, offices, and larger living spaces. Plant recommendations should account for the actual natural light, available space, indoor heating, air conditioning, pets, and preferred care level.

Low-light tolerant does not mean no light. A room without usable natural light generally requires an appropriate grow light for a live plant to remain healthy long-term.

Large floor plants, heavy planters, oversized products, and multi-item orders may require additional delivery coordination.
Before ordering a large item, please consider:
- Elevator availability
- Stairs and walk-up access
- Doorway and hallway width
- Gate or property access
- Parking and loading limitations
- Whether someone can receive the delivery
Longer routes or oversized orders may require a different courier or additional delivery coordination.
Because Ed’s Plant Shop is currently operating with a very small team, installation, repotting, commercial sourcing, special delivery, and other labor-intensive requests must be reviewed to determine what is feasible based on scope, timing, location, staffing, route distance, and current order volume.
Local Pickup Is Not Available
Ed’s Plant Shop is currently online-only and does not maintain a public storefront, showroom, warehouse, or customer pickup location.
Orders cannot be picked up from our former studio or from Flower Daddy. Available fulfillment options are nationwide shipping and eligible NYC local delivery.
Delivery Problems and Damage
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate address, apartment or unit number, working phone number, and all necessary access information.
If delivery cannot be completed because of an incorrect address, missing unit number, unavailable recipient, denied access, missing gate or buzzer instructions, or inability to contact the recipient, additional courier or redelivery charges may apply.
Local delivery fees are generally non-refundable once an Uber Courier or another delivery provider has been dispatched or a delivery attempt has been made.
Damage or significant plant concerns related to delivery must be reported within 48 hours.
