Begonia x semperflorens 'White Ice' - 4" Nursery Pot is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
The White Ice Begonia is a compact flowering Begonia with glossy green leaves and clusters of crisp white blooms. Its tidy, bushy growth and bright flowers make it a beautiful choice for hanging baskets, windowsills, patios, balconies, and other protected indoor or outdoor spaces.
With sufficient light and consistent care, this Wax Begonia can bloom repeatedly throughout the growing season. Its manageable size and colorful display make it an appealing option for both newer plant owners and experienced gardeners.
Why You’ll Love It
Bright white flowers, glossy foliage, compact growth, and a versatile form for hanging baskets and smaller spaces.
Provide medium to bright indirect light indoors. Bright filtered light encourages stronger growth and more frequent flowering.
When grown outside, place the plant in partial sun or bright shade. Gentle morning sunlight may be beneficial, but protect it from intense afternoon sun, which can scorch the foliage and flowers.
Allow the upper inch of soil to dry slightly before watering again. Water thoroughly until excess moisture drains from the bottom of the pot, then empty any standing water from the saucer or decorative container.
Avoid keeping the soil constantly saturated. Yellow leaves, soft stems, or persistently wet soil may indicate overwatering or poor drainage. Severe dryness may cause wilting, crispy edges, or dropped flowers.
Use a loose, well-draining indoor potting mix that retains some moisture without becoming waterlogged. A standard houseplant mix amended with perlite or fine orchid bark works well.
Make sure the hanging basket drains freely. Begonia roots are sensitive to prolonged moisture, especially in cooler or lower-light conditions.
Average to moderately humid household conditions are generally suitable. Good air circulation is especially important around Begonia foliage and flowers.
Regular misting is unnecessary and may leave moisture sitting on the leaves. If your home is exceptionally dry, a humidifier is more effective.
Keep the plant in a stable temperature range of approximately 65–80°F. Protect it from cold drafts, frost, radiators, heating vents, and air-conditioning vents.
Feed lightly during active growth and flowering, generally in spring and summer, using a balanced houseplant or flowering-plant fertilizer according to the product instructions.
Avoid excessive fertilizer, which can contribute to salt buildup, damaged roots, or fewer flowers. Reduce feeding when growth slows.
Remove fully yellow or damaged leaves with clean scissors. Pinch back overly long stems to encourage a fuller shape.
Remove faded flowers and their stems as needed. Regular deadheading helps keep the plant tidy and may encourage continued blooming under suitable conditions.
White Ice Begonia can bloom repeatedly when it receives bright filtered light, consistent watering, and light feeding during active growth. Flowering may slow during winter, after shipping, or when the plant is adapting to a new environment.
The number of open flowers will naturally vary. A plant may occasionally arrive with buds, spent flowers, or no fully open blooms depending on its current growth cycle.
Indoors: Place the Begonia near a bright window with indirect light. Avoid cold glass, strong drafts, and prolonged direct afternoon sun.
Outdoors: Display it in a protected hanging location with bright shade or gentle morning sunlight. Bring the plant indoors before temperatures become cold, as Wax Begonias are sensitive to frost.
White Ice Begonia can be propagated from healthy stem cuttings.
Once the cutting has developed a healthy root system, transfer it into a small container with loose, well-draining soil.
No. Begonias contain insoluble calcium oxalates and should be kept away from cats, dogs, and young children. The underground portions are generally considered the most concentrated, but chewing any part of the plant should be discouraged.
A hanging basket may help keep the foliage away from curious pets, although trailing or fallen plant material should also be removed.
This compact flowering plant works beautifully in hanging baskets, bright kitchens, covered patios, balconies, windowsills, and plant shelves. Its white flowers complement colorful foliage plants and provide contrast in mixed indoor or outdoor displays.
Rotate the basket periodically to encourage balanced growth and even flowering on all sides.

Fresh Color for Bright Indoor and Outdoor Spaces
Enjoy glossy foliage and crisp white blooms in a compact hanging basket that fits beautifully into smaller spaces.
Please note: Each plant is naturally unique. Height, fullness, leaf shape, flower count, and stage of bloom may vary from the photos shown.
The size shown on the product page refers to the approximate diameter of the nursery pot, not the plant’s total height or width. Plant height, fullness, leaf size, vine length, and growth pattern naturally vary by variety and individual plant.
Each live plant is naturally unique. The plant you receive will be the variety and pot size ordered, but its shape, coloration, leaf count, fullness, and maturity may differ from the example photographs. Seasonal growth, recent pruning, and natural variation may also affect its appearance.
Unless the product listing specifically states otherwise, live plants arrive in a standard nursery grow pot. Decorative planters, baskets, saucers, stands, and other accessories are sold separately. Please review the product title and description to confirm what is included.
Please allow approximately 5–15 business days for processing and preparation. Five business days is the earliest end of the range, and many orders require most or all of the stated processing window.
Processing time is separate from carrier transit time. Local NYC delivery also requires preparation and does not automatically mean same-day or next-day service.
Orders may occasionally require additional time because of plant availability, order volume, weather, seasonal demand, or courier coordination. We will send an update when confirmed fulfillment, tracking, or delivery information becomes available.
Each live plant is inspected and packed according to its size, shape, and shipping needs. Soil and foliage may be secured to reduce movement during transit, and protective materials may be added when appropriate.
Temporary drooping, shifted soil, limited leaf loss, or minor cosmetic stress can occur while a plant adjusts after shipping. This does not necessarily mean the plant is unhealthy.
Unpack the plant promptly and carefully remove all protective packaging. Place it in appropriate light and allow it time to adjust to its new environment.
Check the soil before watering. Do not water automatically upon arrival because the plant may already have adequate moisture. Avoid immediately fertilizing, heavily pruning, or repeatedly moving the plant while it acclimates.
We generally recommend allowing a newly delivered plant time to acclimate before repotting unless there is an urgent plant-health reason to do so.
Repotting an eligible small plant during the first 15 days may void the Plant Health Guarantee because it can make the cause of decline difficult to determine.
Report shipping or delivery damage within 48 hours. Keep the plant and all packaging while the concern is being reviewed.
Please provide your order number, a photograph of the entire plant, close-up photographs of the concern, and photographs of the box and packaging when applicable.
Small plants in nursery pots measuring 8 inches and below may also qualify for our 15-Day Plant Health Guarantee. Large plants in nursery pots measuring 10 inches and above have a 48-hour inspection and reporting window.
