Manhattan deliveries often involve apartment towers, doorman buildings, offices, package rooms, service entrances, freight elevators and buildings with specific receiving procedures. Accurate access information helps prevent failed delivery attempts.
- Include the recipient’s full name, apartment or suite number and a working mobile phone number.
- Add buzzer, intercom, doorman, front-desk, service-entrance or loading-area instructions when needed.
- Confirm whether building staff are allowed to accept live plants on the recipient’s behalf.
- For large plants, check elevator, freight-elevator, stair, doorway and receiving-hour restrictions before ordering.
- Remain reachable while the courier is approaching in case access or parking needs clarification.
If an order is left with a doorman, front desk, reception area, package room or another location approved by the recipient or building, that handoff may complete the delivery.
Large plants & special projects
Office, Event or Oversized Plant Needs?
Large floor plants, heavy planters, multi-item orders, offices and special projects can require more planning than standard local delivery. Freight elevators, certificates of insurance, loading restrictions, receiving windows and interior placement requirements can affect what is feasible.
Standard local delivery generally covers transportation to an accessible delivery point. It does not automatically include installation, repotting, furniture moving, multi-floor carry, freight-elevator coordination or placement throughout a home or office.

Do you deliver plants throughout Manhattan?

Is Manhattan plant delivery same-day?
No. Local delivery does not automatically mean same-day or next-day service. Orders generally require 5–15 business days for processing and preparation before courier coordination.
Can a doorman or front desk accept my plants?
Yes, when the recipient and building allow it. Include clear access instructions and confirm that building staff are permitted to accept live plants.
What if my building requires a freight elevator or service entrance?
Add those requirements to the delivery information. Large or heavy orders may need additional coordination, and standard delivery does not guarantee freight-elevator scheduling or in-home placement.
Can you deliver large plants to Manhattan offices or apartments?
Some large plants may qualify for local delivery, but product size, building access and courier availability matter. More complex requests can be submitted through our Plant Services & Special Projects page for review.
Can I pick up my order instead?
No. Ed’s Plant Shop is online-only and does not maintain a public storefront, showroom, warehouse or customer pickup location.
What if my plant arrives damaged?
