Ed’s Plant Shop is a small, independent online plant shop. Every live-plant order is carefully inspected, prepared, and packed before being released to a local courier.
Eligible Manhattan customers may see Local Delivery as an option at checkout. Availability depends on the delivery address, products ordered, inventory readiness, courier availability, and our current operating capacity.
How Manhattan Plant Delivery Works
- Enter your complete Manhattan delivery address at checkout.
- If the address and products qualify, select Local Delivery.
- We will coordinate inventory and prepare your order.
- You will receive an automatic update when confirmed delivery information becomes available.
- Your order will be delivered by a local courier.
We currently use Uber Courier for many Manhattan deliveries. Another local courier may occasionally be used depending on the order size, route, availability, or building requirements.
When supported, Uber may provide delivery updates or a tracking link by text message. Traditional UPS or USPS tracking may not be available for local courier orders.
Courier arrival times are estimates rather than guaranteed appointments. Manhattan traffic, parking restrictions, building access, weather, route changes, and courier availability may affect delivery timing.

Local delivery may be available throughout eligible Manhattan neighborhoods, including areas such as:
- Upper East Side
- Upper West Side
- Harlem
- Washington Heights
- Inwood
- Midtown
- Hell’s Kitchen
- Chelsea
- Flatiron
- Gramercy
- Greenwich Village
- East Village
- Lower East Side
- SoHo
- Tribeca
- Financial District

Local Delivery Processing Time
Local delivery does not automatically mean same-day or next-day service.
Please allow approximately 5–15 business days for processing and preparation. Five business days is the earliest end of the range, and many orders currently require most or all of the stated processing window.
Ed’s Plant Shop is currently operating with a very small team. Processing may occasionally take longer because of:
- High order volume or limited staffing
- Plant and inventory coordination
- Large or complex orders
- Courier availability
- Seasonal demand or holidays
- Severe weather or extreme temperatures
You will automatically receive an update if your order requires additional processing time. There is no need to contact us for a routine order-status update.
Prepare for Your Uber Courier Delivery
Please make sure your order includes complete and accurate delivery information:
- The recipient’s full name
- The complete street address
- The correct apartment, suite, floor, or unit number
- A working mobile phone number
- Door code, buzzer, doorman, front-desk, or loading-dock information
- Helpful delivery instructions when necessary
Please remain available by phone while the delivery is in progress. The courier may need to contact you regarding the correct entrance, loading area, parking, elevator access, or another delivery issue.
Address changes are time-sensitive and cannot be guaranteed after order preparation or courier coordination has begun.
Doormen, High-Rises and Office Buildings
Manhattan deliveries often involve high-rise apartments, doorman buildings, offices, reception desks, package rooms, freight elevators, and buildings with specific delivery procedures.
Before delivery, please confirm:
- Whether building staff may accept live plants
- Whether the courier must use a service entrance
- Whether a freight elevator must be reserved
- Whether a certificate of insurance or advance registration is required
- Whether receiving hours are limited
- Whether oversized items can fit through doors, hallways, and elevators
If an order is left with a doorman, front desk, reception area, package room, or another location approved by the recipient or building, the order may be considered delivered.
Standard local delivery generally covers transportation to the building or an accessible delivery point. It does not automatically include installation, repotting, furniture moving, freight-elevator coordination, or placement throughout a home or office.
Live plants should be brought indoors and unpacked promptly, especially during periods of extreme heat or cold.
Plants for Manhattan Apartments and Offices
Manhattan spaces range from bright penthouses and lofts to compact apartments, shaded courtyards, and interior offices with limited natural light.
Choose plants based on the actual light, available floor or shelf space, indoor heating, air conditioning, pets, and preferred care level.

Low-light tolerant does not mean no light. Windowless offices and interior rooms generally require an appropriate grow light for live plants to remain healthy long-term.

Large Plants and Commercial Requests
Large floor plants, heavy planters, oversized products, office orders, and multi-item deliveries may require additional coordination.
Before ordering a large item, please consider:
- Freight-elevator availability
- Service-entrance requirements
- Stairs
- Doorway and hallway width
- Loading-zone and parking restrictions
- Building insurance or vendor requirements
- Receiving hours
Because Ed’s Plant Shop is currently operating with a very small team, installation, repotting, commercial sourcing, office projects, and other labor-intensive requests must be reviewed to determine what is feasible based on scope, timing, location, staffing, access requirements, and current order volume.
Local Pickup Is Not Available
Ed’s Plant Shop is currently online-only and does not maintain a public storefront, showroom, warehouse, or customer pickup location.
Orders cannot be picked up from our former studio or from Flower Daddy. Available fulfillment options are nationwide shipping and eligible NYC local delivery.
Delivery Problems and Damage
Customers are responsible for providing a complete address, apartment or suite number, working phone number, and all required building-access information.
If delivery cannot be completed because of an incorrect address, unavailable recipient, restricted access, missing instructions, limited receiving hours, or inability to contact the recipient, additional courier or redelivery charges may apply.
Local delivery fees are generally non-refundable once an Uber Courier or another delivery provider has been dispatched or a delivery attempt has been made.
Damage or significant plant concerns related to delivery must be reported within 48 hours.
