Ed’s Plant Shop is a small, independent online plant shop serving plant lovers across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and other eligible NYC delivery areas. Every live-plant order is inspected, prepared, and packed before being released to a local courier.

How NYC Plant Delivery Works
- Shop online and add eligible plants, planters, or supplies to your cart.
- Enter your complete NYC address at checkout.
- Select Local Delivery when the option is available.
- We will coordinate inventory and carefully prepare your order.
- You will receive an automatic update when confirmed delivery information becomes available.
- Your order will be delivered by a local courier.
We currently use Uber Courier for many local NYC deliveries. Another local delivery provider may occasionally be used depending on the order size, route, courier availability, or delivery requirements.
When supported, Uber may provide delivery updates or a tracking link by text message. Traditional UPS or USPS tracking may not be available for local courier orders.
Courier arrival times are estimates rather than guaranteed appointments. NYC traffic, weather, parking, route changes, building access, and courier availability may affect delivery timing.
NYC Local Delivery Areas
Local delivery may be available for eligible addresses in:
- Brooklyn
- Manhattan
- Queens
- Select surrounding NYC areas when supported at checkout
Delivery availability may vary by ZIP code, product size, inventory location, and courier capacity. The most reliable way to confirm eligibility is to enter the complete delivery address at checkout.
Neighborhood and borough delivery pages may provide additional information about local building access, apartment conditions, and delivery considerations.
Local Delivery Processing Time
Local delivery does not automatically mean same-day or next-day service.
Please allow approximately 5–15 business days for processing and preparation. Five business days is the earliest end of the range, and many orders currently require most or all of the stated processing window.
Ed’s Plant Shop is currently operating with a very small team. Processing may occasionally take longer because of:
- High order volume or limited staffing
- Plant and inventory coordination
- Large or complex orders
- Courier availability
- Seasonal demand and holidays
- Severe weather or extreme temperatures
You will automatically receive an update if your order requires additional processing time. There is no need to contact us for a routine order-status update.
Prepare for Your Uber Courier Delivery
Please make sure your order includes complete and accurate delivery information:
- The recipient’s full name
- The complete street address
- The correct apartment, suite, floor, or unit number
- A working mobile phone number
- Door code, buzzer, doorman, or building-access details
- Helpful delivery instructions when necessary
Please remain available by phone while the delivery is in progress. The courier may need to contact you about parking, the correct entrance, building access, or another delivery issue.
Address changes are time-sensitive and cannot be guaranteed after order preparation or courier coordination has begun.
If the courier cannot reach the recipient or safely access the delivery location, the order may need to be left with building staff, placed in another appropriate delivery area, returned, or rescheduled. Additional courier charges may apply when another delivery attempt is required.
Apartment Buildings, Doormen and Mailrooms
We regularly deliver plants to NYC apartments, condos, offices, doorman buildings, lobbies, mailrooms, parcel areas, and other shared-entry locations.
If your building has a doorman, front desk, package room, or receiving department, please confirm that staff are permitted to accept live plants on your behalf.
If an order is left with building staff, in a mailroom, lobby, parcel area, or another location approved by the recipient or building, the order may be considered delivered.
Live plants should be brought indoors and unpacked promptly, especially during very hot or cold weather.
Plants for NYC Apartments and Offices
New York City spaces vary widely—from bright lofts and south-facing apartments to small bedrooms, shaded courtyards, and windowless offices.
Plant recommendations should account for the actual light, available space, indoor heating, air conditioning, pets, and the customer’s preferred maintenance level.
Popular categories include:
- Lower-Light Plants for spaces with limited but usable natural light
- Hanging and Trailing Plants for shelves, bookcases, windows, and smaller rooms
- Floor Plants for living rooms, offices, entryways, and larger corners
- Pet-Conscious Plant Options for homes shared with cats or dogs
- Grow Lights for rooms without enough natural light
Low-light tolerant does not mean no light. A room without usable natural light generally requires an appropriate grow light for a live plant to remain healthy long-term.
Pet-conscious customers should review the exact botanical variety before purchasing. Even plants commonly listed as non-toxic may still cause digestive upset if chewed or eaten.

Large Plants and Special Delivery Requests
Large floor plants, heavy planters, oversized products, and multi-item orders may require additional delivery coordination.
Before ordering a large item, please consider:
- Elevator availability
- Stairs and walk-up access
- Doorway and hallway width
- Building-access requirements
- Loading-zone or parking restrictions
- Whether building staff can receive the delivery
Standard local delivery generally covers transportation to the building or an accessible delivery point. It does not automatically include installation, repotting, furniture moving, carrying oversized plants up multiple flights of stairs, or placement throughout a home or office.
Because Ed’s Plant Shop is currently operating with a very small team, installation, sourcing, repotting, commercial, and other labor-intensive requests must be reviewed to determine what is feasible based on the scope, location, timing, staffing, and current order volume.
Local Pickup Is Not Available
Ed’s Plant Shop is currently online-only and does not maintain a public storefront, showroom, warehouse, or customer pickup location.
Orders cannot be picked up from our former studio or from Flower Daddy. Available fulfillment options are nationwide shipping and eligible NYC local delivery.
A rotating selection of Ed’s Plant Shop plants may occasionally be available for in-person purchase through Flower Daddy at 539 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn. Flower Daddy is a separate retail location and cannot release, return, exchange, or service online Ed’s Plant Shop orders.
Delivery Problems and Damage
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address, apartment or unit number, working telephone number, and all necessary building-access information.
If delivery cannot be completed because of an incorrect address, missing apartment number, unavailable recipient, denied access, or inability to contact the recipient, additional courier or redelivery charges may apply.
Local delivery fees are generally non-refundable after an Uber Courier or another delivery provider has been dispatched or a delivery attempt has been made.
Damage or significant plant concerns related to delivery must be reported within 48 hours.
