Description
Description
A member of the increasingly popular Peperomia family, the Peperomia Caperata or ‘Schumi Red’ is one of the more striking varieties we’ve seen come through our doors. With its deep red to purple tones and streaks of silver in the right light, it has gothic vibes. While there are over 1500 diverse species within the Peperomia genus (perfect for collecting), this particular variety is regarded as easy to care for. It will maintain it’s compact, bushy growth and stay close to the soil, which makes it a good addition to a terrarium as interesting ground cover. It prefers bright, indirect light but will tolerate lower light conditions, and it will do best when allowed to dry in between watering. When it’s happy it will even start to sprout long, thin flowers know as ‘rat tails’, which you can see in our photos
